Representative Mike Hope is serving his first term as Snohomish County’s newest legislator.

He is a twelve-year veteran police officer and a youth athletics coach.

In his first term in office, Mike Hope has become a statewide leader on public safety, passing Eryk’s Law and the Lakewood Police Officers Memorial Act. He has also focused on sponsoring bills to encourage private sector job creation.

Mike and Sarai Hope have been married for nine years. Sarai is a public school teacher and coaches girls’ basketball and track. Mike and Sarai just welcomed their first child, Noah, into the family this spring.

Mike has a degree in Sociology, a master’s in Policy Studies and is a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He recently recieved the Distinguished Alumni Award from UW Bothell.
